FLEXLITE GXe

We played a major role in redesigning Kemppi's classic MIG/MAG welding gun. Having developed the previous model, the Flexlite GXe's design process gave us the opportunity to refine and iterate on our earlier work while also creating brand-new solutions.
Compared to their predecessor, GXe welding guns offer improvements in every aspect, making the welder's work easier, faster, and more enjoyable.

Long lasting and ergonomic handle design
The handle design of Flexlite GXe maximizes longevity and robustness by utilizing a single nylon material. The updated handle features knurled, high traction surfaces, that ensure a firm grip even when wearing protective gloves.
Flexlite GXe's compatibility with the user's hand was also improved by revisions to the trigger mechanism, providing improved feel and haptics.

Optimising form and
functionality
We revised GXe’s bending support to enable a more anatomically viable handle design. The updated ball joint assembly supports a narrower, more compact form factor.
By tuning the range of motion of individual joints, we also increased the reliability of the wire feeding mechanism.

Easy access usability enhancements
Our redesign process also included a signature feature of Flexlite G-series welding guns: a range of usability-boosting attachments.
We refined the functionality of each attachment to better fulfill its specific role in improving user comfort and efficiency. Additionally the attaching and detaching process was made more convenient, allowing for quicker product configurations.
The pistol grip handle continues to minimize wrist and forearm strain during extended use. It features an updated ergonomic profile and a reworked trigger mechanism that improves linear power transfer and sensitivity.

The newly designed elastomer heat shield protects the welder's hands from radiant heat, particularly at higher welding currents. Its flexible material properties allow it to fold, maintaining effectiveness even in confined spaces.

Analog and digital remote controllers allow users to adjust welding parameters directly from the gun handle, enabling more independent operation from the main unit. The updated remotes offer improved reliability and resistance to dust and debris.

To support work in low-light conditions, the GXe torch can be equipped with an LED work light integrated into the trigger module. The updated model delivers stronger illumination of the work area.
